According 4sq, one of the most common check-Location service comes from events, and that users do not want to share location where the event takes place, but want to share that event, concerts, film competition.
Now Foursqure will enable chekiraat of events. To make this Foursquare will work with ESPN to share information matches with MovieTickets that will provide schedule of films playing in some cinemas, Songkick, and will share information about concerts. These three partners would have brought events to 50,000 locations.
Unfortunately, as events come from partners, not consumers, the choice of checking events will be limited and, for now, will be in the United States.
But! Foursquare at the end of his blog post, in addition obviously inspired by the comments of users, said "think about the events created by users themselves, but we want to do it properly."
