Research in Motion, or known as RIM, planned users of Blackberry devices to offer a music service. Muzichiot service will be designed to work with BlackBerry Messenger, Blackberry service for instant messaging. According to announcements, it is anticipated music service to be started next week.
The Wall Street Journal, the music service will be subscription based and will cost less than ten dollars per month. The monthly fee will be charged as part of the user phone bill. Part of the proceeds will be shared with those labels that will participate in this service. RIM is in talks with four record labels, including Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and EMI Group.
The music service will allow users to listen to 50 songs that you can share with other users on Blackberry Messenger. This is completely opposite approach of offering music in comparison with other popular music services like Spotify, Pandora, Slacker Radio and others that allow users to strimaat unlimited number of songs.
RIM has not yet commented these rumors, saying the company's standard policy is to not comment on rumors and speculation.
